*Remembered our long lost old friend who get carried away and say he regretted that his board didn't make it on a drunk man who smacked another friend of his by wooden stick.
Remembered the ads of Volcom Wild In The Park on our site on March edition? Frontside180 has released a complete lists of winners in their respective categories and even write a nice report on it. Sadly it is in Bahasa Indonesia, probably you can ask them to translate it to English.

College dudes. We all know that most of us are in suffocating for money and FAMA (Father and Mother Association) scholarship will be a great help. We are broke but we want all the luxury available at homes such as home theater.
Home theater can cost from RM6,000 to whopping RM20,000 and this is probably not so good idea for college kids in terms of cost and the 'need' of such large investment.
Fear not, we umusu crews have tried X540 from Logitech and this 5.1 speaker has proved it is worth it for small cinema and mini home theater.
5.1 speakers, one middle, 2 fronts, 2 rears = 5. Add a sub woofer and you get 0.1 for the equation. Well you can find out lots of reviews on other webs but we are going to expand the reviews, about the untouched aspect of the Logitech X540 speakers.
The best thing about the satellite speakers is that the speaker legs can be twisted and transform it to either wall mountable or stand positions.
We heard lots of complains regarding short wiring for the rear speakers but we don't think it is really a big deal since the speakers are not supposed to be positioned far away from listeners. As you can see, the front speakers are positioned really near to the listener (whom is in the middle of the satellite speakers). You should measure the distance between the front speaker and the listener and the distance you get should be the same as the distance between the listener and rear speakers.
Anyway, this is just suggestion because we don't think using the home theater speakers configuration software (which can calculate and set the time of each of the speakers, when they should produce sounds, so that the sounds from a particular speaker reach listener at particular time, preventing sound delays due to long travel time) is a good idea at all. This is just a simple 5.1 speakers.
Another thing we want to say is about the matrix mode. 5.1 speakers can go waste if the sound source is stereo and just a waste of wires if you don't have 5.1 sound cards. Most mp3s, avi movies, laptops (during writing) are in stereo and have stereo output. Which means only front right and left, and sub woofer will be used. The rest will stay quiet. Logitech has developed matrix mode and this really a great feature.
When you press the matrix mode button, the speakers will sort out the stereo sounds and distribute the sounds to particular satellite speakers. Talks, human speech, explosion, treble will be in 'front' while 'supposed to be at back sounds' will be produced by rear speakers. Thus you will be trapped in surround sound from stereo sources without even using any sound card!
So, to make is simple, Logitech X540 is a steal at its price. At around RM420, this speaker is enough for mini home theater and enough to make college dudes smile wide. - What a lazy conclusion
Okay see you next time.
