Skateboarding and Malaysia Tourism Industry
Yesterday we receive an email from Germany. Guess what, a german skateboarder asked us direction to nearby skateshop. So we gave him address to Zone 5 skateshop located at Berjaya Time Square. The point is, we wonder, did he came all the way from Germany to checkout the skateboarding scene in Malaysia? It is really an eye opener. From our observation, the government does not really give priority to skateboarding in tourism industry. Yes it may sound ridiculous, maybe we should give a try?

Taiping Skate Competition, Tony Larson Favourite Boards
A happening event especially for skaters will be held at Kompleks Sukan Rakan Muda, Kamunting, Taiping, Perak these 1st and 2nd December 2007, organized by Kementeriaan Belia dan Sukan (we guess, who else?) and the time is 10AM to 6PM. Registration fee is RM5.00 per head and opens from 3PM to 6Pm for Friday and from 8AM to 10AM for Saturday.
There are 2 categories, Park and Best Trick. There will be 3 winners for Park and 1 winner only for Best Trick. RM800 for 1st prize, RM400 for 2nd and RM250 for 3rd and everybody will get a certificate.

530 medialab collaborate with Triumviy to produce Black Friday Pack, available yesterday, 23 November 2007.
The pack only available for 100 pieces, containing a matte-black tin lunch box, T-shirt, 2 logo pins, and 6 stickers.
Here's the weird stuff. The first 80 pieces are reserved for Triumvir newsletter subscribers. After that, for the non subscribers.
Another 20 packs are taken by 530medialab for their own selling in their own online store.

ZONE5, Malaysia's Online Skateshop, Point Blanc Tour, Sneaker Cleaning Kit, and Cool McD Stuff
Zone 5 new shop pictures. The new shop is located at level 5 Berjaya Times Square. Rock on skaters.
During our visit to Malaysia's famous skateboarding shop website which is www.zone5.com.my, we came across a button which states "wanna buy online" or something with the same meaning as those words. Without hesitating, we clicked and found that there is an online skate shop in Malaysia. Duh, we wished we found it early. As far as our concern, the online shop was formerly named as pearlskate.com but now changed to a brand new url for we-dont-know any reasons. Anyway, for skaters living outside KL city, lazy to do the shopping, anti socials etc, here is your solution to your skateboarding needs. Visit http://bbskates.com/
As you can see, most of us are gatal tangan to try new online shops. So one of our folk here ordered 1 pair of etnies Ali and 2 krew t-shirts. Payment have been made and so far the responds we get from the people behind this skateshop is good.

Good news to sneaker heads who are to conscious of the sneakers hygiene! Jason Markk Inc and NORT have teamed up to produce “JASON MARKK x NORT” Premium Sneaker Cleaning Kit, directed by New York graffiti artist Stash and his Recon designer Jared Liner, which will be available for grabs at NORT NY retail stores and via reconstore.com
East Coast Park McDonalds in Singapore has a skate through (not drive through) for skaters whose tummy suddenly started to roar and don't have the time to take off the wheels but do have the time to open their wallets convenience. :)

End Of October 2007 Updates!
On 6th october 2007, Point Blanc the artist who sings the great hit Ipoh Mali finally came out with his own clothing line with collaboration with our nation established hip hop clothing company, Echo Park, and it is called VOYEURIZM.
Here's some words spoken by Point Blanc during the official lauch if VOYEURIZM.
"Fashion is an important element of the hip hop lifestyle and it has always been one of my passions other than music. After establishing both myself as a solo artiste and my record label Voyeur Records, developing an urban clothing line was a natural progression and gave me the opportunity to expand the Voyeur Records brand as well”.
“When we decided to develop VOYEURIZM, it was only natural for Voyeur Records to collaborate with Echopark, as they are one of Malaysia’s leading hip-hop retailers. This is only the beginning of our partnership together and you can look forward to more from us in the future”

At the neighborhood of Panglima Polim, Jakarta there is a new store, Stepa in which the concept is skate store. They are selling t-shirts, hoodies and boards.
