On 29th September 2007, Sole What? was officially opened and there was a party held for celebrating the first sneakers specialist shop in Malaysia which will be selling the all time famous sneakers makers such Nike, Adidas, New Balance etc.

I’m sure most guys (and girls) have had someone from school that they knew or hung out with, but never really gave much thought to because they looked geeky and nerdy, and they weren’t really the ‘cool’ kind. You know the ones I’m talking about. And then you all graduated high school and found your own niche and went with that…until one day you see that person mentioned above, but in a new light. They have since lost their braces, lost weight and developed in areas where you never even thought existed. All of a sudden you start regretting and every ‘shoulda’ and ‘coulda’ goes through your head. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about...Malaysia has changed in more ways than one.

SOLE WHAT? - STORE OPENING

Well, I was lucky enough to be the guest of a very special store opening in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the weekend just past and even though I made my move to Australia 15 years ago, I have to say that I’m proud to be Malaysian. Thanks to movements like Streething in Malaysia and Sole Obsession in Singapore, the entire South East Asian region has been put on the international sneaker map.

SOLE WHAT? – the newest (and first) dedicated sneaker boutique to come out of Malaysia...

Atmos Tokyo Japan and Mita Sneakers will manage the pre-orders and each pair of sneakers will come with exclusive black shoe box and one Voltron lion. The latest line ups feature designs that will make your brain dizzy for a while if you try to look and try to extract the artistic values hidden in them but yet still look fresh and unique and hot. Attention, What The Dunk SB on eBay are fakes. Kevin Imamura said something with that in an interview with Slamxhype :

As far as product is concerned, is there any products you have launching around the time of the film, we should look out for? What has been the main emphasis as far as product development goes in recent times?

There is a shoe coming out in each city that is hosting a premier. The shoe is called “WhattheDunk”. It, like our film, is a culmination of the last six years. But instead of it being our riders it is some of our best Dunks.

For those of you who do not know about What The Dunk, What The Dunk is a skate boarding movie done by the Nike group featuring the Nike SB riders. Whatever it is, Umusu crew do check up eBay and found lots of Nike What The Dunk shoes being auctioned. Some of the sellers do claim that they are selling the originals. Hurm, original fake? So, just hold on and wait for official words from Nike.
