Panorama Get Nominated and DVS Skate Shop Competition

Malaysia's first DVD skateboarding video which was released June last year is nominated in the 21st Malaysian Film Festival under documentary segment. There is no voting by SMS etc, meaning there is nothing much you can do to help actually and all decisions are made by the elected judges. Maybe they want a fair and no corruption competition and so that the not-so-good videos but full of beautiful and handsome people win since there is a huge proportion of the population vote by considering only those attributes (no offence). Whatever it is, congratulations to Skate Malaysia team and we hope by this nomination, this will create a benchmark for our local skateboarding videos as well as recognition for our skateboarding community.

DVS is organizing a skate shop competition in which 100 lucky skate shops are going to participate in this rare event. These 100 skate shops are going to produce their own 5 minutes skate videos featuring their own local talents which are handpicked by themselves and submit it on or before 31st January 2009. After that, DVS juries will decide who will win and the winner (which is a skate shop) will get rare stuff from DVS as well as free publicity in the magazine as well as the internet. Cool right?

We think the recent world petrol price hike has really affected the street community. It seems that nothing much is going on and not so lively as before. We hope this condition will recover as soon as possible.
